so i work in a building with a few companies. because i work the late shift i became good friends with the cleaning crew who cleans the whole building. they introduced me to one of the lawyers at one offices. Ever since then everytime we would pass, we would small talk or whatever. well one night his card wouldnt start. I seen him with the hood up so i ran over to give him a jump, just because im that kind of person. i personally would hate waiting for someone to come to jump me. anyway he called his friend who would be 45mins, but i got him on his way.

a while ago I got a speeding ticket, and was tired of getting points and didnt know what to do. I got burnt on my last lawyer, took my 1k and didnt do anything for me.

So then i remembered my new friend, im thinking he seems legit and he knows someone since he works in the same town as the ticket. I go and visit him, and ask him if he does tickets. he says no, but his partner does.
his partner took my case really cheap because of my friend. Then the state screws everything up so they have to do more work to setup a new hearing. I end up making the guy wait an hr because im late coming from work.

I ask him how much do i owe him for his time, and he says nothing. I was thankful and offered pizza for the whole office. he was sooo happy about this, i guess owners love it when you show appreciation for someone's staff.

anyway we set this up for fri. I was thinking, i could just pick up a few pies and call it a day. or i thought i could ask him what their favorite place to eat at lunch, order from there and allow everyone to order whatever they like.

what do you think is better in this case?

friday is a busy day for lawyers... I'd do the pizza... that way they can take it to their desk and eat

what i meant for the second option, is order take out from a fancier pizza shop. not like site down and eat etc.

I think getting a bunch of various pizzas from one of the standard pizza places (Pizza Hut, Little Caesar, Papa John, etc) or one of the local pizza shops would be a better option. When you get into the whole asking about who wants what from where bit, you set yourself up to potentially get something wrong and have someone annoyed with you over something small and stupid. Plus, there's always the added bonus of you just showing up at random with pizza surprises and making everyone happy.

I agree with justinthemighty...just get a variety form one of the local shops.
(and thats coming from someone who doesn't eat pizza - except the ones with
white sauce instead of the red stuff)
